Hello Room 21 Families,
I apologize for the delayed biweekly update!
This past week we had a lot going on. In Technology with Miss Klein, we have been wrapping up our Adobe Spark projects. Adobe Spark is an awesome program/application that allows students to make short videos while displaying information. For this first project, we worked on making videos about the first explorers that came to America. The kids had a lot of fun working on these videos, and I can't wait to see them all.
This week we also took our Module 5 mid module test. It was quite difficult and long. I am so proud of how my students stay focus and try their best when faced with these difficult exams. Not all students finished, so we will be continuing to finish them on Monday. It will most likely be another week before I have them all graded and returned. As I mentioned, it was a long test.
This week we also began to work on summarizing texts. We read about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and will be summarizing his life and accomplishments.
I would like to remind everyone that we do have our field trip to Mission San Juan Bautisa on Tuesday, January 31st. Please remember to send a jacket and lunch to school with your child, unless you have already signed up to receive a school lunch.
If you are sending a lunch from home please put it in a brown paper bag and write their name on it. This makes lunchtime much easier.
I would also like to welcome our newest student, Ariana, to our classroom. Ari is joining us from the Cambrian School District, and will be a wonderful addition to our classroom. Welcome!
As always after a break, even a short one, I like to remind students of classroom rules and procedures. This week we were particularly working on focusing during lessons and not chatting. Please help me by reminding your child to try their very best to stay focused during class. I always give students opportunities to talk and chat with their neighbors, which is why I am very strict when it comes to talking/blurting while I am teaching.
Lastly, a reminder that Spell-A-Thon money is due this Friday, January 27th.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
