Welcome to December! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.
This week has been a busy one!
We took our End-of-Module Assessment for Module 3. The kids did rather well on it, mostly only getting stuck on the word problems. I am hoping to have those corrected and returned Wednesday.
On Thursday, the fourth grade team was out of class at a training for our second Language Arts pilot, National Geographic. We will be starting this next pilot when we return from break. I am excited to start using it.
We had PAC with Coach Nguygen on Tuesday. We played Ro-Sham-Bo relay. The kids absolutely love this game!
The class has started our next writing unit, Expository writing. We will be choosing animals and writing about them. Ask your child what animal they chose to write about!
In Social Studies, we have been focusing on different Native American tribes.
We also welcommed a new student to the Room 21 family. I would like to take a minute to welcome Aon and his family to our room!
As it is very common, I would like to mention we have been having a few behavior issues in class. While nothing severe, it seems that our short break has caused us to forget some of our classroom rules and expectations. Specifically, remembering to raise our hand to speak and to remember to focus on work rather than chatting. This is very common for this time of year, so we have had extra practice following all room expectations.
I hope you all have a lovely and relaxing weekend!
