I apologize for the long hiatus from posting updates, it has been a very busy time here in 4th grade!
As you all know, we have wrapped up our conferences. I hope you were able to hear both positive points related to your child's learning, as well as some areas they can continue to grow in. I am very proud of all the students in Room 21, they have been working very hard. Please keep reminding your student to read at least 20 minutes each night. It would also be beneficial if students practiced their multiplication math facts. Having these facts down is the foundation to solving more difficult math.
We are now beginning to work on opinion writing. Students tend to enjoy this type of writing most, as they always have an opinion about everything!
We are wrapping up our module on decimals. Students will have a end of module test this Friday, the 24th. After this module, we will be working on Geometry.
Beginning next Monday, we will have art docent from San Jose Museum of Art. He will be coming in to each fourth grade class and teaching students math through art and STEAM. He will be coming for 6 sessions. We are very excited for this opportunity.
We are beginning to prep for our annual Gold Rush Carnival. This carnival will be held June 2nd from the morning time until lunch. During this event, we have many different stations that the kids cycle through. This is a great opportunity for parents to volunteer to either help or lead a station. This carnival is ran by our wonderful parent volunteers. It would be great if we could get a few parents willing to help put on and organize this carnival, as well as parents will to set up and clean up. This is a fabulous memory for the students, and a great experience for parent volunteers. Please email me if you are interested in helping!
This Friday, the 23rd is International Night from 5:30-7:30. Stop by to get a bite of some yummy food!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
