Wow! What a crazy few weeks Room 21 has had. I hope everyone had a restful Spring Break.
To start out with, we are entering the last few weeks of school! I can hardly believe how fast this year and flown by. With this being said, we still have A LOT to do between now and the last day of school.
We are in need of parent volunteers to help either head the Gold Rush carnival on June 2nd, or to volunteer their time at boths. We will also need parents to help set up the stations, as well as break them down in the afternoon. This carnival starts in the morning and ends with a fun traditional western lunch. Please contact me ASAP if you are available to help with ANYTHING.
Next, the lovely students of Room 21 have earned their THIRD class prize...and ice cream party! This is a short, class only, end of day party. We do however need a few things to make this party a little extra. If you are able to donate:
-32 small bowls
or any other ice cream related add-on, please email me and let me know at your earliest convenience. Your donations are always appreciated!
As you all should know by now, we have our upcoming science projects. Students should get their topic approved no later than Tuesday of next week. This has been extended from today's due date. By next Friday, the 21st, students need to turn in their registration form. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help make this assignment as painless as possible.
Today, we took our Module 4 Mid-Module Test. We have been focusing on angles and measuring using protractors. Some students have had difficulty with using protractors. To help them improve at home, I suggest going on to Zearn to review, and even printing out angles and then practicing measuring them with protractors.
We are currently starting our Poetry unit. We have quickly learned that poetry extends further than just rhyming words together. I look forward to the word the students will soon be creating!
If you haven't already, I encourage you to follow my twitter, as I post often about what is going on through the day.
Lastly, be sure to ask your students about the super cool skateboarding assembly we had yesterday! Two young men came to school and taught us all about science using skateboarding as the topic. It was awesome!
Reminder: Next Friday, the 21st will be our Walk-A-Thon at 1:00, we do need volunteers to help at the snack stations. Please let me know if you are available.
