Happy Friday, Room 21!
First off, thank you to all of the moms that came and helped us make our maps of California today! It was a messy, crazy, fun project! We couldn't have done it without you. Check Class Dojo for pictures.
Speaking of Class Dojo, we had our first day where ALL students were on "Outstanding Leader"! We all earned 3 Dojo Dollars, 3 Dojo Points, and a marble! We also earned a marble for working so well during the making of our maps. We are very close to our first class prize.
In math, we have been working on addition and subtraction, as well as making tape diagrams to show our work. Though this is a seemingly simple concept, the wording of the word problems made it a little more complicated. Our students persevered though, and started to get the hang out it. As for the Mid-Module tests, they have been graded. However, the Fourth Grade team has decided to hold on to them until conferences. Due to the new grading, we would like to be able to explain the scores with you in person. This was also our first test using this program, so we do not want to overwhelm the students with the scores, as we are all still getting used to the testing format.
This was also the first week of Flex Reading. The students have been having fun switching classes(or staying with me!), and we have been reading short stories together.
During PAC, we played Alligator Alley- Team Style. The kids had a great time playing with Coach Nguyen. The Recess Leaders program will also be starting soon. If your child applied to be a leader, then they have a permission slip that is to be signed and returned in order to participate.
Have a wonderful weekend!
