Happy Friday, Room 21 Families!
Although this was a short week, it was a very productive week! This week we took our first mid-module test for our first math module. Due to the fact that this is a new program, and we all want to stay consistent, the fourth grade team will be grading the mid-module tests together next week. You will receive the tests back once they are corrected.
We began our new ELA program this week, Wonders. Next week will begin to switch classes for our Flex groups. Each group will being using the same materials, and will be adhering to the same standards. Whichever group your child is placed in, please know that they are receiving support to continue growing. The fourth grade team does review groups, and changes in groups are made when appropriate.
Miss Klein came into our classroom this morning and introduced Scratch Coding to the class. Students were able to explore Scratch. The class is a group of fast learners!
Application for students to become Recess Leaders have been passed out. They are due Tuesday, the 13th.
This week we read a story called, "The Magnificent Thing". It had an underlying Growth Mindset lesson in it, which led us to a great discussion about what to do when we get frustrated. We also celebrated our "failures" of the week. Often times we celebrate our success, but rarely do we think about the opportunities that "failing" provide us. We talked about what struggles we faced this week, how we overcame them, and what we learned.
Our ipads that will be supporting our Dash Robots came in, so I will soon be working with our Technology teacher to incorporate them into lessons. The kids are very excited.
Once again, thank you so much for all of the donations/support that has been given to room 21 this year! I appreciate the support!
Have a great weekend!
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
